Kathi Inman Berens
LO and LA, left coast, United States
Writer & Professor. Working on fiction, composition and new media. Passionate teacher. I earned my Ph.D. in English Literature from UC Berkeley in 1999. In 2000, I began teaching Advanced Writing in the College Writing Program at the University of Southern California. I helped to found and run an online undergraduate writing journal, AngeLingo. I created and ran for several years USC's Undergraduate Writers' Conference. I was the first NTT at USC to be appointed a Fellow at the Center for Excellence in Teaching, where I am now a Distinguished Fellow. Research for a presentation I gave at the New Media Consortium Summer Conference in June 2010 ignited my thinking about f2f in the mediated classroom. That's the focus of my academic work these days.
